Testimonials

Pamela has been a lifesaver for my family.”

Initially, I hired her to assist with my adult daughter’s complex health issues, which were severely impacting her independence. We were overwhelmed with the struggle of getting access to the necessary specialists, compounded by constant miscommunication between providers and insurers and a barrage of wrong or denied insurance claims. Pamela’s unwavering dedication, exceptional organization, and compassionate support have alleviated so much of our stress. Thanks to her efforts, my daughter now has access to outstanding specialists in every required area, which has restored her independence. Impressed by these results, I hired Pamela to help with my own care needs as well. She has expertly managed issues across multiple specialists, always maintaining discretion and confidentiality, even between members of the same household. Beyond her professional excellence, Pamela has shown a genuine personal care for our well-being, making us feel truly supported and understood. We are forever grateful for her relentless advocacy and kindness.

“Pamela came in as a savior during a very rough time.”

I had just moved to the U.S. as an international graduate student, and almost immediately had trouble getting access to life-saving medication that was available in my home country. Fortunately, I found incredible help from Pamela. From our very first conversation, I knew I was in great hands. She knows the healthcare system of the U.S. inside-out, but makes sure to explain every step and strategy to her clients. You always feel you’re part of the process, learning more as you go. She is very organized and clear, and always responsive whenever you need help. The best thing about the experience was her encouraging me to consider volunteering as an advocate myself, and to look for other individuals who have had experiences similar to mine so we can advocate for ourselves. This reminded me of my own power and agency, which is easy to forget or minimize whenever the healthcare system becomes inaccessible, confusing or unpredictable. Without her, I would probably not be able to continue being in the U.S. A lot of anxiety was spared so that I could finally focus on my work. She made the transition to the U.S. much more tolerable, and for this I am very grateful.

“Pamela is as much a teacher and mentor as an advocate. We feel much more confident interacting with doctors now.”

We reached out to Pamela after feeling increasingly helpless as parents and having one of those serious moments when you realize how much you don’t know what you don’t know. Our son was struggling and Pamela brought three disconnected things into focus so we (and his providers) had a 360 degree perspective. She ensures that nothing is overlooked and is always gently pushing us to think ahead and view our son’s development in a larger time horizon, encouraging us to see how small, incremental steps now will translate into success. Pamela is as much a teacher and mentor as an advocate. We feel much more confident interacting with doctors now and know we can start to rebalance health, work and life – a gift to everyone in the family.

“Pamela’s value has been not just to tackle and manage our family’s medical challenges, but also make it possible for me to continue working and stay focused on my own career.”

Mom of two teens, Massachusetts

“Pamela is the perfect balance of professionalism, empathy and support. She’s also skilled in navigating the intricacies of our family dynamic.”

My teenage son developed a rare and serious medical condition, followed by a serious mental health disorder. Although I know a lot about mental illness, I realized I was overwhelmed and needed help navigating care for my child – especially because he was moving across the country to attend college in Massachusetts.  This transition involved  finding a new team of specialists in Boston, going from pediatric to adult providers and changing our insurance, a complex and daunting array of tasks that seemed impossible.  And as a full-time teacher my time was limited. Luckily, we found Pamela. She is extremely knowledgeable about the healthcare system in Boston and secured a new Mass General Brigham PCP and top multidisciplinary specialists for our son.  She coordinated communications with our Colorado pediatric team for a smooth transition of care and oversaw the insurance plan changes, ensuring our son has excellent coverage for hospital-based care.  Pamela always finds the answers if she doesn’t know something.  And as an advocate, she understands young adults with overlapping medical and mental health issues and the many challenges they face becoming independent in the world, including being healthy, confident and ready for college.

“Pamela has been a tenacious, compassionate, and thorough champion for our family since meeting us.”

She took the time to really understand our situation, and then dove into learning, understanding and advocating for our needs. We have clear steps forward on every front, and support both emotional and practical from Pamela. Through her guidance, I feel empowered to support my son in the ways that will truly make a difference for him. Thank you!

“Pamela could anticipate exactly what I needed at a given moment with the insight and intuition that can only come from a lifetime of firsthand experience.”

“I met Pamela during an extraordinarily challenging time in my life, and I’m not sure where I would be without her guidance and compassion. I felt more comfortable opening up to her than to my own family and loved ones – she was often able to verbalize my concerns, hopes, and fears far better than I could, and she could anticipate exactly what I needed at a given moment with the insight and intuition that can only come from a lifetime of firsthand experience. Her support was invaluable to me, a young adult dealing with sudden illness in an unfamiliar country, as was her deep knowledge of the greater Boston area medical resources, which helped connect me to excellent providers. Her holistic approach to analyzing medical problems was uniquely helpful for my diagnosis and treatment, as it required a broad understanding of physical and mental health, family dynamics, and cross-cultural differences. She was a tireless advocate, communicating my needs to medical professionals and family members alike, and empowering me to make the best decisions while dealing with considerable emotional turmoil and uncertainty. Her sunny disposition and gentle encouragement were a constant source of hope in an otherwise bleak time, and I cannot be thankful enough!”

“Pamela gently demystified the relationship between intellectual abilities and mental health. Her perfectly timed check-ins remind us of the progress our son is making, giving our family confidence to tackle the decisions still ahead of us.”

“Intellectually gifted, my son’s anxiety and neurocognitive processing issues went unaddressed until his 20’s. Pamela gently demystified the relationship between intellectual abilities and mental health. Moreover, she helped my husband and me navigate our own emotions as we worked with her to identify and engage professional support for our son.

“Pamela is exceptional, more than a 9-5 advocate. She cares deeply about her clients and considers both the patient in need as well as supporting family members.”

Pamela found and connected us with the medical experts, clinical programs and related health professionals we needed, tapping resources in greater Boston and across the U.S., and getting answers for both medical and insurance-related problems. We live far from our family member who needs help, and it’s been a huge relief knowing that in our absence Pamela can step in to assist.

“I know Pamelas skills and instincts, her kindness and determination, make her role as health navigator a deeply personal calling.”

Pamela has been a close family friend for decades. Ive watched her manage complex health, navigate care and guide health decisions since 1998 for family, friends and her parents in their later years. She is compassionate, caring and kind – someone I implicitly trust to have my best interests in mind. She also values research and evidence-based approaches to care – essential to anyone in a health-related field. Pamela helped her parents, in their 80s, get the specialist care they needed and make the transition to hospice when the right time came. She was Health Care Proxy for both parents and acted as their liaison and interpreter during clinical meetings and hospital admissions. She oversaw challenging transitions of care – her mothers 32-hour relocation from Houston to Massachusetts via medical ambulance, just one example – and managed family communications across every U.S. time zone. Put simply, she knows how to talk to doctors and nurses and regards them as trusted partners in care. As an elderly patient myself, she has given me invaluable advice, support and help, especially needed during my own Covid isolation. I know Pamelas skills and instincts, her kindness and determination, make her role as health navigator a deeply personal calling.”
